The next Curating Summer Academy will run two weeks in September. Based upon the submitted documents twenty candidates will be shortlisted. An international jury will interview the candidates on zoom in mid-March 2024 and will select the final fourteen participants.
Who can apply
The Curating Summer Academy is open for application to students with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in the humanities (art history, history, or cultural studies) or an academic concentration in design, fashion or media studies. It is also open for artists, postgraduate students from other disciplines with strong interest in curating and professionals from all art-and-culture related fields at the beginning of their career. All courses are in English language.
How to apply
To apply, kindly download and fill out the below application form in Latin characters and send it to info@curatingacademy.de together with the following documents in one single PDF document:
- CV (max 2 pages)
- Letter of motivation, explaining what you hope to learn during the summer academy and why this will be important for your academic and/or curatorial ambitions (max 2 pages)
- Copies of recent diploma certificates, if possible, with English translation
Conditions and fee
The fee covers all lectures and guest lectures. Depending on the number of participants, it will vary between 4.700 € and 6.000 €.
A preparatory online course is optional and can be booked separately.
Not included are museum entries, transport and accomodation. These need to be organised and paid by the participants. Advice on accomodation can be given.
Visa
Non-European candidates must check if they need to apply for a Schengen-Visa and a visa for the UK.
